- Late 2000 was a busy time for Shalimar as they started the Town Hall Renovation process. They had meetings, placed ads, opened bids, and completely emptied the old Town Hall to ready it for demolition, in addition to their normal duties.
- In early 2001, the Shalimar Town Hall was transformed from a cute little house-like structure to the green-roofed building it is today. The employees moved their offices from the old Town Hall and worked out of the old maintenance shed during construction. Commission Meetings were held in the Town Attorney’s Office. The employees were able to move back into their new space at the beginning of April 2001 and the Grand Opening of the new Town Hall was on June 8.
